The Nordic Radio Amateur Union invites you to
the 53rd Scandinavian Activity Contest (SAC),
taking place as follows:

CW: 17-18 September, 12 UTC - 12 UTC

SSB: 8-9 October, 12 UTC - 12 UTC

Full rules, national records, a searchable score
database, and links to propagation services for
pre-contest planning are available at http://www.sactest.net.

You will be pleased to know that a new Single
Operator Assisted category for non-Scandinavians
has been added to the rules. Exceptional efforts
have also taken place this year to mobilize as many
Scandinavian hams as possible, filling the bands
with stations for you to work. Keep an eye out
for the upcoming issue of Contest Club Finland’s
PileUP!, containing extensive pre-contest coverage.

The organizers aim at serving you the final
results within one week from the log submission
deadline.

Spread the word, put on your rig and break your
national record. Put simply, come and heat up the
Polar Battle!

New Official SAC Web Site

Today we can announce that a new Official SAC Web Site has been launched at http://www.sactest.net The site contains a contest log robot with some unique features like continuous updated claimed scores. The robot will also do the final log crosschecking!

The aim of the site is to provide a more efficient way of procession all contest logs and hopefully present the final result quicker compared to previous years. The site is still a work in progress and you may see some changes the upcoming days. But the Log Robot will be ready for your logs when the SAC CW is finished on Sunday evening! The sactest.net site has been developed by SM7LQV and SM3CER.

The SSA officers with SM6JSM & Co have been working hard with the 2008 years awards. The awards are now delivered to the post office.
Calls marked with bold letters in the result lists will receive an award. So take a a careful look in your mailbox for a letter from Sweden!

SAC 2008 Claimed Scores

SM3CER announces:

The Claimed Scores for SAC 2008 are now published!
Links can be found on the 1st page on SM3CER Contest Service at: http://www.sk3bg.se/contest/

If the claimed scores made by you or your software differ from the scores published, the reason can be that the claimed scores are made by the log checking program on equal basis. If you participated and did send a log, please have a look to see that your category is OK.

Please also check that I’ve got the correct operator call, if you used a club or special call and the correct operators, if you were in any of the multi classes. I will now concentrate on checking the logs for the final results and hope to get those out as soon as possible - but please don’t ask me when - I’m working as fast I can…

Meet SAC operators on the Baltic Sea

Take the opportunity and meet operators from SAC on the 14th CCF & OHDXF Contest & Dx Meeting on 16-18 January 2009 The meeting concept will be traditional - a ferry cruise on the Baltic Sea, from Helsinki via Aland Islands to Stockholm and back to Helsinki. Presentations take place on board the ferry on Friday evening and on Saturday between 11:00-16:15. Daytime visitors are most welcome on Saturday 17. Jan in Stockholm.
